Hossack was born in Steinbach Winnipeg, in Canada. Her experience in musical theatre began at the age of a teenager in Killarney, Manitoba. Following her first semester at Brandon University, she was a major in piano. Then she switched to singing. Following a brief stint on stage, she stated that her only interest was acting. Following her graduation from Brandon She then attended the Banff School of Fine Arts. Hossack started appearing on stage at the Rainbow Stage and the Muskoka Festival, in Winnipeg.
